Giordano Bruno of Nola, he called himself "the Nolan" or somtimes "il fastidito" meanning "the man with his stomach turned".

An ubiquitous figure in Finnegans Wake, permutations such as Bruno Nowlan, Nola Bruno, Bruno and Nola, St. Bruno, Nolans Brumans, Mr. Brown etc.

Controversial figure in his time persecuted by the Inquisition for heretical relativistic views on the center of the universe.
