• Little Bighorn: commonly referred to as Custer's Last Stand, an 1876 battle between th e U.S, Seventh Cavalry and the combined forces of Lakota, Northern Cheyenne and Arapaho tribes under Sitting Bull. the result was a crushing defeat for the federal cavalry and teh death of Custer.
