- rubric: a heading of a section in a book, traditionally printed in red
- rubricked: marked by red letters, written or printed in red
- redd: clean or clear for a new occupant
- The Rubrics: the oldest surviving building in Trinity College Dublin; built at the turn of the 16th century in red brick with distinctive Dutch gables and tall chimneys
- brick → linking the printing of books with the erection of buildings
- red → the dustjacket of the first edition of Finnegans Wake was red or wine-coloured
