To say too us to be every tim, nick and larry of us, sons of the sod, sons, littlesons, yea and lealittlesons, when usses not to be, every sue, siss and sally of us, dugters of Nan!
Joyce's first draft of this sentence was as follows:
And to say that we are all every tim mick & larry of us, sons of the sod, when we are not every sue, ciss & sally of us, dugters of Jor
The final word (Jor) may be incomplete; he may have meant Jordan (a river). Or Hayman may have misread Jor for Jan. On the James Joyce Digital Archive, Rose & O'Hanlon give Jan as the original.
