  • yoke or saddle (that is, he didn’t take the time to harness and saddle up a horse, in order to meet the king on horseback.)
    • This scene is reflective of Elijah’s calling of Elisha (1 Kings 19.19-20): “So he departed there, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he with the twelfth: and Elijah passed by him, and cast his mantle [saddle] on him. And he left the oxen, and ran after Elijah ..”
