- Exodus 3.4: Mosheh, Mosheh ("Moses, Moses!"), words spoken by Yahweh to Moses from the burning bush. Early lives of St Patrick said that he resembled Moses in four ways.
- With the preceding phrase, " "Telleth that eke the treeth? / Mushe, mushe of a mixness" this line seems to be an instance of the formula "me me to thou thou" occuring throughout the book. (Cf. Tauftauf or Mishe mishe)
