  • thethe is the last word in Finnegans Wake. In FW 'the' is a door (exit/entrance) from the end to the beginning
    • This door is also connected to a key, the door and key metaphor reflecting (among other things) three sections from the book of Revelation, Revelation 3.7-8 (who oped it), Revelation 9.1-11 (evil is released from the door with a key) and 20.1-10 (evil is locked inside - and released - with the key). Note that the next sentence in FW ending with the word “the” occurs right before the thunderword on p. 257. This thunderword includes references to Lucifer and closing the door which connect it to the latter two Revelation passages.
  • the Dor: thé (French) 'tea', is at the end of the letter, which is obliterated by a tea stain made by Belinda (Biddy) Doran.
