• Viterbo: an ancient city and commune in the Lazio region of central Italy, the capital of the province of Viterbo. It has a long history with the papacy, site of a council demanded by Innocent III, and had a papl palace inhabited by Clement IV, Gregory X, and John XX1, and where a number of conclaves were held.
